Inter Miami signs Inter Miami CF and Novo ahead of MLS preseason.

Inter Miami CF has strengthened its squad ahead of the 2025 MLS season by signing defender Gonzalo Luján and goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo. The additions come as the team gears up for a demanding preseason schedule, signaling its intent to build a competitive roster under head coach Javier Mascherano.

Luján, 23, joins from San Lorenzo in Argentina’s top division. Known for his versatility, the defender can play multiple roles along the backline, offering valuable flexibility to Inter Miami’s defensive setup. During his time with San Lorenzo, he made 97 appearances and represented Argentina’s U-23 national team in 15 matches. Luján has signed a contract that runs through 2027, with an option to extend until 2028.

Ríos Novo arrives on a one-year loan from Club Atlético Lanús, with the potential for a permanent move at the end of the loan period. The Los Angeles-born goalkeeper has international experience, having represented Argentina at various youth levels. He reunites with Mascherano, under whom he played in the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.

The team is set to begin its preseason with a friendly against Club América in Las Vegas before heading on a tour of South and Central America. These new signings aim to bolster the squad’s depth for the upcoming campaign.
