The University of Wisconsin-Madison has appointed Dr. Marcus Sedberry as the General Manager for Badger Football, a role that will see him oversee all aspects of roster management, player personnel, and football operations.
Dr. Sedberry, who has been serving as the Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer since 2022, brings a wealth of experience to this position. His previous roles include serving as the Director of Player Engagement for the Philadelphia Eagles, where he collaborated closely with football operations, sports performance, and player development. He also held significant positions at Baylor University, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Central Florida, contributing to multiple conference championships.
Athletic Director Chris McIntosh expressed enthusiasm about Dr. Sedberry’s appointment, stating, “His leadership and vision are perfect for this role. Expanding Marcus’s involvement demonstrates our strategy to embrace the future of collegiate athletics and positions us to navigate the opportunities ahead.”
Head football coach Luke Fickell also praised Dr. Sedberry’s contributions, noting, “His experiences both in professional and college football make this a natural fit, and his connection with everything we’ve done during my time here gives our relationship the strength to grow the foundation of our program.”
In his new role, Dr. Sedberry aims to build upon the strong foundation of the Badger Football program, focusing on effective roster management and player development to ensure continued success in collegiate athletics.
