The Everton manager was in no mood to entertain Nottingham Forest’s grievances over the penalty calls that went against them at Goodison Park, but shared some good news about Beto’s recovery.
Sean Dyche dismissed Nottingham Forest’s grievances about VAR in Everton’s crucial 2-0 Premier League win at Goodison Park. Not long after the match ended, Forest issued an angry statement stating they had requested the removal of Stuart Attwell as the VAR official, claiming he’s a fan of relegation rivals Luton Town.
The Reds were upset after three penalty appeals, all involving Everton’s Ashley Young, were dismissed. Both Gio Reyna and Callum Hudson-Odoi had their claims denied twice, leading Reds boss Nuno Espirito Santo to express his frustration, agreeing that his team had been unfairly treated in all three instances.

However, Dyche dismissed the complaints, asserting that his team has faced similar decisions. “I don’t know about that for a team that’s only been awarded two penalties all season,” Dyche told Sky Sports. “I’m not about to start complaining about penalties, I can assure you. We’ve had our fair share not given.”
VAR is there to do its job, they have voted it’s not a penalty, that’s the way it goes. I am not going to start crying about having knocks you know, we have had a few here this season. That baffles me if you are looking at the bigger picture of what we are working towards and what we are having to deal with. That’s the way it goes, we haven’t had them go for us.”
Dyche also shared encouraging news about striker Beto, who was stretchered off towards the end of the match.
“It’s too early to tell for sure, but the initial signs are very, very good, very positive. He was conscious and talking with the physios and the medical team. That’s a promising sign at this point.
“Everyone responded as quickly as possible, which was the right thing to do. We’ll have more updates over the coming days.”

The Everton boss was pleased with the manner of his team’s response to Monday night’s 6-0 hammering at Chelsea to secure a result that now puts them four points clear of Forest. Indeed he thinks they should be even further having had eight points deducted so far this season.

“That would be us mathematically safe on 38 points today – but we are not. There’s a sign of what we have been talking about making progress and I think we have but there’s still a lot of work to do.
The way that we dealt with it was very pleasing. Some big moments went for us today, especially with Jordan making a big save early on, two good strikes from distance going right in the corner and you win a game.”
