Congratulations:Texas Wins 2024 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship

The University of Texas claimed its ninth Big 12 title after posting a final score of 1,127 (-25) at the 2024 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship. After ending the first day at even par, the Longhorns shot 13-under on Tuesday before firing 12-under on Wednesday. Their final score is the second-lowest 72-hole score posted in Big 12 Championship history.

 

Oklahoma garnered a second-place finish with 1,145 (-7) while Oklahoma State finished third (1,150, -2) as the only other team under par. Baylor tied its second-best finish, coming in fourth at +3 (1,155) while West Virginia posted its first top-5 finish at a Big 12 Championship with 1,157 (+5).

 

Holding the lead on Monday and Tuesday, Cincinnati’s Ty Gingerich shared the medalist honors with TCU’s Gustav Frimodt and OSU’s Preston Stout. The trio shot nine-under 279 after four rounds.

 

OU’s Ryder Cowan and Houston’s Santiago De La Fuente tied for fourth (281,-7), two shots ahead of sixth-place finishers BU’s Johnny Keefer and UT’s Brian Stark (283, -5). Kansas’ Will King along with UT’s Keaton Vo and Nathan Petronzio tied for eighth shooting 4-under 284 to receive All-Tournament honors.

The 2024 NCAA Men’s DI Golf Championship selection show is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at 1 p.m. CT on the Golf Channel.
