Former Tennessee forward and recent Arkansas signee Jonas Aidoo is withdrawing from the 2024 NBA Draft and will play for the Razorbacks next season, as first reported by CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. Aidoo committed to Arkansas on April 29th after three seasons at Tennessee. At the time, he was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 11 overall player in the transfer portal and the second-best power forward. The Durham, N.C. native improved each year with the Volunteers, with his junior season being his best. He averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game, shooting 51.5% from the field, and earned AP First Team All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive team honors.
Arkansas fans will remember that Aidoo had a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double in Tennessee’s 92-63 win over Arkansas inside Bud Walton Arena on Feb. 14. Earlier in the year on Dec. 12, he scored a career-best 29 points against Georgia Southern and recorded a career-high 15 rebounds on Jan. 13 against Georgia.
Aidoo was one of two Arkansas transfer signees involved in the draft process. Johnell Davis has not yet announced his decision and remains in the NBA Draft. The NCAA deadline to withdraw and return to school is May 29.
