In three out of the last four years, the Texas Longhorns have clinched the most recent Director’s Cup, an accolade bestowed upon the university athletics department with the highest performance nationally. According to Sports Illustrated, Texas has triumphed in three of the past four editions, with Stanford interrupting their streak by claiming victory in the preceding year. Stanford has been formidable in this competition, seizing 26 out of 30 titles and an impressive 25 consecutive wins from 1995 to 2019. Notably, Florida clinched the inaugural award and remains the sole other team, besides Texas and Stanford, to secure victory in this prestigious competition.
