Anthony Davis ‘respecting’ LeBron James’ Lakers opt-out decision…see more.

Anthony Davis stated he doesn’t want to sway LeBron James regarding his upcoming free agency decision. On Saturday, James, a 20-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion, declined his $51.4 million player option with the Lakers, where he has spent six seasons. Additionally, Los Angeles recently selected James’ son, Bronny, as the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

But James will hit the open market once free agency opens up on Sunday though, according to multiple reports, he is expected to return to the Lakers

Davis, according to ESPN, said he will respect James’ decision and knows he will be notified of it before most people hear the news.

“I’m respecting his space,” Davis said. “We’ll be together all summer, and I know he’ll inform me of his decision—whether he stays with the Lakers, opts in or out, re-signs, or takes a different path—because of our relationship. I’m confident I’ll know before anyone else, aside from his family and agent Rich Paul.”
