Kincade Henry, a resident of Mount Pleasant, finished second twice over the weekend in rodeos and earned some good money.

At the Reno Rodeo in Reno, Nevada, the world’s twenty-third-ranked tie-down roper competed. Henry earned $1,446 for finishing in sixth place in the first round in Reno. Henry won the first round of the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, Colorado, with a time of 7.7 seconds. He received $4,402 for the top ride, making a total of $5,848 from the two rodeos. His season earnings now stand at $34,077.

At the Mesquite Championship Rodeo, Jacksonville resident Jayse Tettenhorst and partner Ty Arnold earned $1,019 for finishing first in team roping with a time of 5.6 seconds.

Also competing over the weekend in Mesquite was Holden Myers, a native of Van. With 5.0 seconds, the steer wrestler took second place and earned $747.

Over the weekend, Justin Shaffer from Hallsville participated in two rodeos as well. Shaffer earned $607 after placing fifth overall in the West of the Pecos Rodeo in Pecos, Texas, with an average time of 11.0 seconds. Shaffer won $2,560 by finishing in fourth place in the first round of the Greeley Stampede in 3.8 seconds.

Lightning Aguilera, a native of Athens, and his partner Lane Mitchell also competed in Pecos, finishing in third place in the second round with 7.0 seconds to win $1,260.

Will Woodfin, a resident of Marshall, and Riley Kittle placed second in round one with 6.7.
