Jason and Travis Kelce concluded the first season of their collaborative podcast with a serious announcement about its future return. The sports duo made the announcement during the final episode of Season one of the New Heights podcast, revealing they would be taking a hiatus from the show.
The former Philadelphia Eagles player mentioned that Travis’ upcoming training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs was the reason they were taking a break.
“We’re taking a couple of months off from podcasting because, you know, in three weeks Travis will be starting training camp,” he informed their listeners.
“And trust me, two months isn’t enough time to do a podcast, especially the best podcast in the world,” Jason added enthusiastically.
“He’s going to be focused on football, getting ready for the upcoming season. So we’ll be on a break for about two months,” the athlete explained.
The Chiefs’ open practices are scheduled from July 21 to mid-August in preparation for their 2024 season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
During the episode, Jason also mentioned the possibility of returning to podcasting by late August after discussions with their producer.
The New Heights podcast, launched by the Kelce brothers in September 2022, quickly became popular among sports fans for its insights into the NFL.
Interestingly, it was during this podcast that Travis first publicly acknowledged his now-girlfriend Taylor Swift after attending her Eras tour show last July.
