Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Raúl Mondesi, 53, was sentenced by a Dominican court to six years and nine months in jail and fined $507,000 for corruption during his tenure as mayor of San Cristobal. Prosecutors accused Mondesi of embezzling $5 million during his time in office from 2010 to 2016. Mondesi, who spent six years under house arrest, has already completed his sentence.
