Los Angeles – After a rumor stated that JJ Reddick is the front-runner to become the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, the front office was allegedly ready to make a big offer to someone else.
Dan Hurley of UConn is the leading contender for the head coaching job of the Lakers, according to an ESPN story on Thursday morning.
Hurley is on the other end of the scale, having won back-to-back NCAA national titles, while Reddick has no coaching experience. Inside ESPN Senior NBA On “SportsCenter” on Thursday morning, Adrian Wojnarowski indicated that there will likely be a significant increase in conversations between the Lakers and Hurley in the next few days.
The Lakers are still interested in David Adelman, Sam Cassell, James Borrego, and Reddick in addition to Hurley and Reddick, sources told ESPN.

Hurley’s record at UConn is 141-58 in his six seasons.
Arizona State’s men’s basketball coach is his brother, Bobby Hurley.
According to ESPN, Hurley’s ability to help the Lakers’ young players—Max Christie, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hacimura—develop is another factor in his attractiveness. For LeBron James to be able to play with his kid in the NBA, the Lakers may also allegedly choose Bronny James.
