In a press release on Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers announced that they have signed 6-foot-3 guard Jeff Dowtin to a two-way contract. The team’s announcement provided the following details:
Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that Jeff Dowtin Jr. has been signed to a two-way contract. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, in accordance with team policy. Dowtin Jr. recently played seven summer league games with the 76ers in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, averaging 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and a team-leading 5.7 assists. He scored at least 15 points in each game, including three performances of 18 points.
In addition to his strong summer league performance, Dowtin has delivered impressive performances in the G League throughout his career. Notably, he had a standout game last season with the Delaware Blue Coats, recording 41 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.
Regarding his NBA career, including his initial stint with the Golden State Warriors, the 76ers provided the following details:
“Dowtin Jr. has averaged 2.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 11.1 minutes per game over 46 career NBA appearances with Orlando, Milwaukee, Golden State, Toronto, and Philadelphia. After signing with the G League’s Lakeland Magic following the 2020 NBA Draft, he contributed to their 2021 NBA G League championship. Dowtin Jr. made his NBA debut with Golden State on November 3, 2021.”
Dowtin made his NBA debut with Golden State in 2021, appearing in only four games for the Warriors, though he did spend time with their G League affiliate on a two-way contract. After the upcoming season, Dowtin will become a restricted NBA free agent.
