Dub Nation knows well how swiftly Warriors star Steph Curry can change the game—and LeBron James is well aware of this too.
During Team USA’s dominant 104-83 win over Puerto Rico at the Paris Games on Saturday, Curry’s shooting struggles persisted, despite the victory. After the game, while Curry was being interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle’s Ron Kroichick, his teammate showed confidence in his ability to turn things around.
When asked by Kroichick about a potential scoring surge, Curry responded, “You want to continue to be confident shooting the ball—I always am. I know a flurry is coming.”
As James walked by, he couldn’t resist chiming in. “It sure is, goddamn it,” he called out during Curry’s interview, according to Kroichick.
Following a strong Olympic start against Serbia, Curry had a rough performance against South Sudan, going 1-for-9. He began well against Puerto Rico but finished cold, ending with 3-for-8 from the field.
James, familiar with Curry’s ability to heat up quickly from their many high-stakes NBA encounters, is no stranger to his teammate’s talent. Their mutual respect has been evident throughout the Olympics, with Curry even nominating James to be Team USA’s flag bearer during the Opening Ceremony.
