Tyler Reddick’s NASCAR career has flourished since moving to 23XI Racing from Richard Childress Racing in 2023. While he currently has no reason to leave 23XI, speculation arises about his potential return to RCR if his situation changes. Would RCR be willing to take him back? Would Reddick consider it? Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports recently analyzed this possibility, noting similar rumors about Kyle Busch potentially aiming for a return to Hendrick Motorsports or Joe Gibbs Racing in the future.
If Tyler Reddick and RCR were to reunite, repairing their relationship would be crucial. However, the feasibility of such a scenario remains uncertain.
Tyler Reddick, RCR relationship damaged beyond repair?
Reddick exploded onto the scene in 2022, his final season with RCR, securing three checkered flags and finishing 14th in the points standings. Though he was highly successful in the No. 8 car, it didn’t stop him from signing a deal with 23XI in the summer of 2022 beginning with the 2024 campaign, which surprised Richard Childress.
Then came that September, when RCR announced that Busch would join the team in 2023. Childress notified Reddick just one hour before the official announcement that Busch would be taking over the No. 8 car. RCR would obtain a third charter for Reddick to pilot during his final season with the team — at least that was the plan. That likely didn’t sit well with Reddick. And the following month, RCR bought out the remainder of his contract, allowing him to join 23XI a year early.
While the transition was challenging, Tyler Reddick has thrived since joining 23XI Racing. He achieved a career-best sixth-place finish in the points standings last season and has maintained strong consistency this year. His victory at Talladega, along with 10 top-10 finishes and six top-5 finishes in 17 races, highlights his success.
Kyle Larson tells spotter to ‘shut the f*** up’ after Denny Hamlin comment
Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin made contact during the final stage of Sunday’s USA TODAY 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, prompting Larson to take a shot at his spotter of all people.
Larson’s spotter, Tyler Monn, radioed to him, “He runs you like that every time, you know why, because you let it happen.” Larson didn’t appreciate those words from Monn, and promptly told him to silence himself.
As soon as Larson made the remark, the radio fell silent.
During their radio argument, the racing at New Hampshire was intensifying amid the impending threat of rain. Although NASCAR has rain tires, officials emphasized that the only circumstance halting racing would be poor visibility, as the track lacks lighting.
The rain came soon after and NASCAR has put the red flag on the race.
