Another goalkeeper could be on the move with Burnley man ‘close’ to joining Championship rivals

Both Wales Online and BBC Sport report that the 30-year-old is nearing a move to the Swans, though it hasn’t been specified whether the transfer will be permanent or on loan. The goalkeeper signed with Burnley on a free transfer last season, securing a three-year contract after his contract with Leyton Orient expired.

Vigouroux did not make any appearances last season and was the third-choice goalkeeper at Burnley, behind James Trafford and Arijanet Muric.

Muric has left to join Ipswich Town on a permanent transfer, with Vaclav Hladky coming to Burnley in exchange. The future of Trafford is uncertain, especially after he nearly signed with Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window. Swansea is seeking a new goalkeeper following the return of last season’s loan star, Carl Rushworth, to his parent club, Brighton.

Vigouroux played for Swansea manager Luke Williams when he was at Swindon Town.

He began his career at Brentford and Tottenham and has also played for Hyde, Liverpool, Waterford, and the Chilean club Everton de Vina del Mar.

So far this summer, Burnley has seen only five players leave, fewer than expected with just over a month remaining in the transfer window. Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Charlie Taylor have moved to Birmingham City and Southampton, respectively, while Muric has joined Ipswich.
