On Friday afternoon, rookies Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky came together for their first practice during the WNBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, Arizona.
Clark and Reese have been competitors since the 2023 NCAA Championship game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the LSU Tigers. Their rivalry grew when they entered the WNBA, but this will be their first time playing on the same team, which will happen on Saturday during the WNBA All-Star game.
During Friday’s practice, Clark and Reese took part in a lighthearted half-court shot contest. Clark went first but missed her shot wide to the left, hitting the backboard.
Reese followed Clark and made her shot, clinching victory in the contest. The other All-Stars and fans courtside cheered for Reese after her successful shot, and she celebrated by high-fiving her teammates.
Clark and the Fever have faced Reese and the Sky three times this season. The Fever won the first two matchups, while the Sky claimed victory in the most recent game. Two of these contests were decided by a single point.
