The Carolina Panthers can now set the date for their international game in Munich later this year. The NFL revealed on Wednesday that the Panthers will take on the New York Giants in Week 10 at Allianz Arena on Sunday, November 10. The game is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. local time in Germany, but it will kick off at 9:30 a.m. in Charlotte.
During the Carolina Panthers’ voluntary minicamp practice on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, head coach Dave Canales was seen in discussion with quarterback Bryce Young.
The Panthers were announced as the “host” of the Germany game earlier this year. The franchise was awarded marketing rights to advertise in Germany in 2021. Since receiving those rights from the NFL Global Marketing Program, the team has launched campaigns to grow interest in the foreign country. Sean Phaler, senior director of digital marketing and head of international expansion at Tepper Sports and Entertainment, told The Observer in January that the initiatives over the past three years have cultivated a fan base in Germany.
“This is the moment in time when it all comes together,” Phaler remarked regarding the international matchup.
The Panthers’ most recent international game was in 2019 when they secured a 37-26 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
The Germany matchup is a part of the NFL’s International Series, spanning from São Paulo to London to Munich. Despite being slated for nine home games this season, the Panthers will only play eight games at Bank of America Stadium, with the Germany trip considered a home game for the team. The remainder of the Panthers’ 2024 schedule will be officially released on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
