Breaking:NBA Insider Says There Are Two Teams LeBron James Would Sign With If They Drafted Bronny

Predicting the future for the 2024 offseason is particularly challenging. While most expect LeBron to re-sign with the Lakers for a significant salary, rumors persist about him potentially leaving to join the team that drafts his son, Bronny. According to reputable NBA insider Marc Stein, at least two teams believe LeBron would consider signing with them for less than his projected $51.4 million salary if they draft Bronny.

“I know of at least two teams in the NBA that believe LeBron James would consider signing with them at far less than $51.4 million if Bronny James is on the roster. There might be more,” Stein reported.

James possibly signing with the team that drafts his son on a minimum contract has been thrown around over the last season, but most believed that to be an unlikely scenario. But with Stein also saying this is a possibility, fans should keep their eyes peeled to see what happens with Bronny at the June Draft.

Bronny’s representatives are decisively rejecting interest from other teams, with over ten teams reportedly turned down for workout invites. Bronny has only accepted invites from the Lakers and the Suns. The Suns, featuring stars like Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, could be a strong contender for LeBron to pursue a title alongside his son. However, LeBron would need to accept a significant pay cut to join the Suns if Bronny is on the roster, as they could only offer him the veteran’s minimum, which is nearly $50 million less than his current earnings.

The Philadelphia 76ers are the only other contending team considering Bronny, and they have the cap space to make LeBron a compelling contract offer this summer. While it wouldn’t match the max contract he could earn with the Lakers, LeBron might be tempted by a $25 million deal to join Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, play alongside Bronny, and still leave room for a strong supporting cast.

Bronny James Doesn’t Dream Of Playing Alongside LeBron

Bronny James is on the verge of achieving the dream that millions aspire to: being drafted into the NBA. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized that his dream has always been to play in the NBA, not necessarily to play alongside his father.

My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and get to the NBA, which is everyone’s end goal that’s here. I never thought about just playing with my dad, but of course, he’s brought it up a couple of times. But yeah, I don’t think about it much.”

Shortly after Bronny’s statement, a report suggested that LeBron won’t switch teams if Bronny isn’t on the Lakers. This makes sense, as LeBron has established six years of continuity with the Lakers, and no other team can utilize him as effectively as they do. Nevertheless, everyone knows that drafting Bronny could pave the way for LeBron to join that team. This possibility will persist until LeBron announces his retirement. Pairing LeBron and Bronny would be a marketing dream and could also lead to on-court success, provided the circumstances are favorable.
