July 24, 2024 – The Charlotte Hornets issued a statement today on the death of PA Announcer Pat Doughty:
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Pat Doughty, who served as our cherished PA announcer for nearly 20 seasons. Pat’s dynamic voice was central to our game experience and brought energy to the Spectrum Center every night. Despite battling health issues in recent years, his commitment to our team and fans remained unwavering. He will be deeply missed by all connected with the Hornets. Our thoughts are with Pat’s family and his many friends”
