AC Milan and Tiago Santos of Lille have reached an agreement on personal terms for a possible transfer during the summer transfer window, as per a report. We were the initial source to mention Santos’ name in April, highlighting the club’s pursuit of a right-sided defender, with the Portuguese player fitting the bill due to his age and potential.
Since then, multiple sources have corroborated our earlier report, including a recent one from Calciomercato.com, suggesting that the appointment of Paulo Fonseca as the new head coach will expedite proceedings, with a proposed bid of €10 million plus bonuses already prepared.
Now, La Repubblica is asserting that AC Milan’s management has reached an agreement in principle with Tiago Santos regarding a potential contract, pending a full agreement between the clubs on the transfer fee.
Geoffrey Moncada and his team aim to close the deal at around €8 million, whereas Lille is holding out for €15 million and has shown no inclination to lower their asking price thus far.
Nevertheless, Santos has already expressed his desire to join AC Milan. His representatives are actively involved in the negotiations, and further discussions are anticipated in the coming days in hopes of finding a middle ground.
