Detroit Lions’ defensive back Cameron Sutton sought in Florida domestic violence warrant

Detroit Lions defensive back Cameron Sutton is being sought under a domestic violence warrant in Florida. Authorities in Hillsborough County, which covers Tampa, issued a request for information on X social media platform. The warrant alleges domestic battery by strangulation, a third-degree felony carrying a potential prison term of up to five years.

The sheriff’s office indicated that Sutton might be driving a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a Florida license plate, but no additional details were given. It’s uncertain whether Sutton has legal representation. The Detroit Lions released a statement acknowledging they were informed of Sutton’s legal situation that morning. They stated they are monitoring the situation closely and will refrain from making further comments at this moment.

Sutton, aged 29, inked a $33 million deal with the Detroit Lions spanning three years in March 2023. He participated in all of Detroit’s regular season and playoff matches. Prior to joining the Lions, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2017 until 2022 after his college career at the University of Tennessee.
