Despite ongoing injury issues this season, with forwards Nelson Asofa-Solomona (hamstring) and Christian Welch (back) both being ruled out before the game, the Storm have still managed to secure victories.
Try-scoring winger Grant Anderson was added to the injury list after going down in the final moments of the game at AAMI Park. Coach Craig Bellamy reported that Anderson hyper-extended his knee but expressed hope that the injury would not be long-term.
On a positive note, Bellamy is likely to have superstar half Cameron Munster available for this week’s game against the Eels. Additionally, Marion Seve and Young Tonumaipea could also return from their injuries.
The Storm might need to find another forward to face the Parramatta pack, as Joe Chan is facing a suspension following a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge from the win over the Roosters. Chan will be sidelined for two games if he accepts an early guilty plea, or three games if he contests the charge and loses.
The Eels had a bye last round, with their most recent game being a Round 19 loss to the Titans.
In a significant blow for Parramatta, halfback Mitchell Moses is expected to be out for the season due to a ruptured biceps injury sustained while playing for New South Wales in the series decider at Suncorp Stadium. Having already missed time earlier in the year with a foot injury, Moses has only played eight games for the Eels this season.
The Eels, searching for their first win since Round 13, are hoping to have some players return, with Junior Paulo, Ofahiki Ogden, and Haze Dunster potentially available for selection.
