Rasir Bolton delivered impressive statistics and received all-league recognition in his inaugural professional season in Europe.
The former Gonzaga guard aims to replicate this achievement with a new club in a different country after signing with FK Spartak Subotica in Serbia, as announced by the team on Thursday.
Bolton’s decision follows a successful debut season with Antwerp Giants in the BNXT League, which features teams from Belgium and the Netherlands. The guard averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, earning a place on the All-BNXT first team.
During the season, Bolton scored at least 20 points in 10 games, reaching a high of 29 points in a 102-75 victory over Okapi Aalstar on December 2nd. Previously playing for Georgetown, Iowa State, and Penn State, Bolton finished as the league’s second-highest scorer, trailing only Tyreke Key, formerly of Tennessee and Indiana State.
Antwerp reached the third round of the BNXT playoffs but was defeated 3-1 in a series by Filou Oostende.
Bolton, recognized as Eurobasket.com’s Guard of the Year in the Belgian Pro Basketball League, will join Spartak Subotica as their second foreign player, alongside Danilo Nikolic from Montenegro.
