The Las Vegas Raiders have bolstered their receiving corps by signing free agent wide receiver Kyle Philips, the team announced on February 18, 2025.

Background and College Career

Philips, a native of San Marcos, California, played four seasons at UCLA, appearing in 34 games with 23 starts. He amassed 163 receptions for 1,821 yards and 17 touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed as a punt returner, recording 25 returns for 496 yards and two touchdowns. His collegiate performance earned him first-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2021.

Professional Career

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Philips was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round (163rd overall). During his rookie season, he recorded 23 receptions for 259 yards and one touchdown. However, his 2023 season was marred by injuries, leading to his release from the Titans in August 2024.

Following his release, Philips joined the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad in September 2024. He was part of the Eagles’ roster during their Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, securing his first Super Bowl ring.

Impact on the Raiders

The addition of Philips provides the Raiders with a versatile receiver capable of contributing both in the passing game and as a return specialist. His collegiate success and professional experience position him as a valuable asset to the team’s offense.
