Just In: “A player from each of the Utah Jazz’s Northwest Division competitors that they could benefit from having.”

The Utah Jazz require defensive assistance urgently. They ranked last in defense last season and struggled with some of the league’s weakest defenders. While they had reliable defenders in Walker Kessler and Kris Dunn, their efforts weren’t sufficient to propel the team towards the playoffs. Additionally, there’s uncertainty regarding Dunn’s future if the team chooses not to re-sign him, which could further weaken their defense. Although Kessler is a solid defender, he alone cannot elevate the team’s defense from the bottom ranking. They need additional support.

We’re looking for as many options as possible to improve the team’s defense. After all, the team is going to lengths to such lenghts, why not us? Wed love to find some great two-way players but we’re going to settle for great shooters or great defenders, and just hope that helps the team be better during the 2024-2025 season.

We want better defenders and better all-around players, so we opted to look around the Northwest Division to see which of our rival teams have free agents that could best serve the Utah Jazz’s cause heading into the new season. We’re targeting the one guy who makes the most sense while adding on an extra selection that isn’t as likely. That player would need a lot of things to go in the Jazz’s direction for him to land in Salt Lake.
