A season ago, a number of rookies made contributions to the Green Bay Packers’ squad. This season, Green Bay believes that a few of the rookies will also make an impact. A season prior, Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, Dontayvion Wicks, and other rookies made their debuts.
A handful of rookies contributed to the Green Bay Packers team last season. Green Bay thinks some of the youngsters will have an effect this season as well. Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, Luke Musgrave, and more rookies made their debuts the previous season.
By many measures, there was not a great class of running backs available in the 2024 NFL Draft. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, however, listed his top five running backs for the 2024 NFL season based on their projected productivity.
Marshawn Lloyd, a rookie running back for the Green Bay Packers, was ranked fifth on his list. Tyrone Tracy Jr. of the New York Giants, Bucky Irving of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kimani Vidal of the Los Angeles Chargers, and Trey Benson of the Arizona Cardinals were the four other running backs ranked higher than Lloyd.

During the offseason, the Packers made an odd choice regarding their running back position. Instead of paying Josh Jacobs, who was just two years removed from leading the league with 1,653 yards and 340 attempts, two years after Aaron Jones signed with the Vikings in free agency, the Packers paid Josh Jacobs. Given that he is only 26 years old and is now earning $14 million annually from his contract, Jacobs is a lock to open the season as Green Bay’s leading back.
However, I don’t think money will make him the starting running back for the Packers in 2024. Lloyd is a unique feline. He is somewhat conceited when it comes to jogging. Back spot: the former South Carolina and USC back, who was just 5-foot-9 and 220 pounds at the combine, is strangely not a player whose game is based solely on power. He actually had an incredible forced-missed tackle rate of 40.8% on 115 carries during his season with the Trojans last year. Keep an eye on how Lloyd begins to receive more carries in what should be a terrific Packers offence as the season goes on.
