Wisconsin Badgers cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean has been granted an additional year of eligibility, allowing him to return for the 2025 season. This decision follows a legal victory in which a U.S. District Court judge ruled that Fourqurean’s two seasons at Division II Grand Valley State should not count against his college eligibility.
Fourqurean began his collegiate career at Grand Valley State in 2020, a season disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. He played for the Lakers in 2021 and 2022 before transferring to the University of Wisconsin in 2023. After completing his senior season with the Badgers, Fourqurean sought a waiver for an additional year of eligibility, which the NCAA initially denied. In response, he filed a lawsuit arguing that his time at Grand Valley State should not count against his eligibility, citing the NCAA’s decision to grant extra eligibility to Division I
