LeBron James’ message to Bronny wakes up his son just in time to curb criticism

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown made headlines with his blunt evaluation of LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, after a Summer League game. During Monday night’s matchup in Las Vegas, where Bronny and the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Celtics, Bronny struggled offensively, including missing a three-pointer. His performance in the Summer League has been lackluster, with a 0-15 shooting record from long range.

While sitting courtside with his girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick, and WNBA rookie Angel Reese, Brown was seen on NBA TV’s sideline cameras apparently saying, “I don’t think Bronny is a pro.”

Gondrezick reportedly replied, “I think he’ll definitely be on the G-League team.”

Brown then allegedly countered, saying, “I don’t think so. I think his name will get him on the Lakers.”

Bronny was picked 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, realizing a dream of his father, LeBron James, who has always hoped to play alongside his son in the NBA. This marks the first instance of a father and son being on the same NBA roster.
