Free agent forward Miles Bridges has agreed to a new three-year, $75 million contract with the Charlotte Hornets, according to sources from ESPN on Saturday.
Bridges’ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, negotiated the deal with Hornets’ executive VP of basketball operations Jeff Peterson. The agreement ensures Bridges will remain part of the team’s core alongside All-Star guard LaMelo Ball and promising second-year forward Brandon Miller.
Although Bridges, 26, considered sign-and-trade options, he ultimately opted to stay with the Hornets. His decision follows a season where he averaged 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, making a significant comeback after missing the previous season due to legal issues.
Last season, Bridges achieved consecutive 40-point games in February, becoming only the fourth player in franchise history to do so, per ESPN Stats & Information. The Hornets’ offseason under Peterson has been focused on balancing competitiveness and future asset accumulation, highlighted by acquiring 23-year-old starter Josh Green from the Dallas Mavericks and securing four future second-round draft picks in various deals.
