NBA: LeBron James Says New $101 Million Lakers Contract Could Be His Last…..READ MORE

LeBron James, the star forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, stated that his current contract with the team might “easily” be his final NBA contract he signs.

In an interview with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on July 8, the 39-year-old Ohio native offered his thoughts on the situation. They also talked about the terms of his two-year contract and what he anticipates from his oldest son, Bronny James, joining him in the league.

“I would never sit here and think, ‘Well, perhaps not.’ Yes, that is possible. Without difficulty. When asked if the $101.35 million Lakers contract would be the final one he signs as an NBA player, James responded, “But we’ll see what happens.”

James will play for the Lakers until he is 41 years old if he plays out the entire length of his contract, the Lakers announced in an official statement on their website on July 7. James’ comments came the day after the team officially announced that the NBA’s all-time highest scorer had agreed to stay with the team for two more seasons.

With a predicted salary of $50 million, give or take a little bit more, the NBA great will become the first player in NBA history to surpass the $500 million mark and bring his lifetime on-court earnings to roughly $530 million.Father-Son Duo Bronny, 19, realized his father’s greatest desire of playing on the same team as his son when the Lakers selected him in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft with the 55th overall pick.
The rookie player received his first NBA contract last week from the Lakers. This is a $7.9 million contract with four fully guaranteed years, the final year at the Lakers’ option. His rookie year pay was approximately $1.2 million.
James described Bronny’s Lakers draft selection as “a dream come true” to reporters on July 7, in Las Vegas, while Team USA Basketball was getting ready for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
