NFC East update: Jayden Daniels’ strong work ethic is making headlines, and the Giants are set to debut “Century Red” uniforms in 2024…Read more.

Kliff Kingsbury has long admired Jayden Daniels, and after spending the first few weeks with him in Washington, the Commanders’ offensive coordinator is likely an even bigger fan of the rookie quarterback. Kingsbury, the former Cardinals head coach now in his first season calling plays for the Commanders, recently praised Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick and reigning Heisman Trophy winner who posted impressive stats in his final season at LSU.

“He’s intentional in everything he does, which I like,” Kingsbury said on the team’s website. “That’s what we heard about him coming up, and that’s what he’s shown since he’s been here.”

Kingsbury’s praise for Daniels notably focused on his mental approach rather than his football skills.

“He has a plan for studying, for practice, for watching film,” Kingsbury said. “He knows what he wants to be and where he wants to go. It’s really encouraging to see that mindset in someone so young.”

Washington fans should be excited about Kingsbury’s comments, as they’ve been waiting for a true franchise quarterback. While many young quarterbacks possess talent, few have the necessary mental attributes to succeed at the highest level. It’s early, but Daniels seems to have those qualities.

One notable omission from the Eagles’ 2024 schedule is the absence of a prime-time game against the Cowboys. This marks the first time in over two decades that the Eagles and Cowboys won’t face off in prime time, a scenario last seen in 2003 when John Madden was still broadcasting and Cris Collinsworth called games on Fox with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.

The Eagles’ Week 17 game against the Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field on December 29 will be aired on Fox, likely featuring Tom Brady in the booth with Kevin Burkhardt, who grew up an Eagles fan. Additionally, their first matchup in Week 10 on November 10 in Dallas will be broadcast on CBS, with Tony Romo and Jim Nantz covering the game.

Seeing Eagles-Cowboys on CBS feels odd because it hasn’t happened since 1993, back when CBS held the NFC package (with Nantz calling that last game). This season’s new TV deals ensure CBS airs each NFC team at least once, securing them a highly-rated Cowboys game. The Eagles’ Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys will air on Fox, likely featuring Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt. Meanwhile, their Week 10 game in Dallas will be on CBS, with Tony Romo and Jim Nantz covering it.
