Graeme Bailey reports that Atletico Madrid, along with Bayer Leverkusen and Porto, are eyeing a move for Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville, as per an update on HITC dated April 5th.
It is claimed that several English clubs, such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and West Ham may also be ready to test Leeds’ resolve in the summer transfer window.
However, should the Whites earn promotion to the Premier League, they intend to hold talks with the Dutchman over extending his stay at Elland Road.
Summerville has been in superb form for Leeds this season and would be a massive loss if he is snapped by another club.
That ranks Summerville fourth overall in the English second tier for goal involvements, behind Morgan Whittaker (26), Sammie Szmodics (27) and Adam Armstrong.
The fact that Summerville still has two years to run on his Elland Road contract means that Leeds do still have some leverage, even more so if promotion is achieved.
Simultaneously, should there be another Championship football season, Leeds might find themselves compelled to act if a lucrative offer is made for Summerville.
