Tata Martino has hinted that another top player from Inter Miami might depart this summer, joining Lionel Messi. The 36-year-old forward is anticipated to play a prominent role for Argentina in the upcoming Copa America held in the United States, where Messi has already been included in the provisional squad.
Given the Inter Miami captain’s impressive record-breaking displays in MLS this season, the team may face challenges without Messi, who could miss up to six games. Additionally, another key player from Inter Miami might also leave for the same tournament.
Luis Suarez tipped to leave Inter Miami to compete in the Copa America
In a post-match interview following last night’s 2-1 victory against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Martino hinted that Luis Suarez has a strong possibility of securing a spot in Uruguay’s final squad for the Copa America this summer. Despite not being a regular starter under Marcelo Bielsa, Suarez has showcased impressive form this season with Inter Miami, netting 13 goals and delivering seven assists at the age of 37.
Should Suarez, like Messi, depart from Inter Miami to participate in the Copa America, it would undoubtedly deal a significant blow to the team. Losing arguably their two standout players of the season for the summer tournament would pose a considerable challenge for the Herons.
