The New York Giants showed their commitment to Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback by extending his contract last season, despite some opinions favoring star running back Saquon Barkley for the extension.
Unfortunately for Jones, the 2023 NFL season was a disaster as he failed to prove his worth to the team, leading to speculation that the Giants are ready to move on from him and draft what would be the team’s next franchise player under center.
On Monday, things got a bit awkward for Jones and the Giants franchise, with the team holding a press conference and their quarterback having to address questions about his immediate future with the team.
Jones was directly questioned about his suitability for the role going forward, leading to a response captured by Giants Videos on Twitter that was bound to reveal his thoughts on the matter.
Although Jones gave the typical answer that anyone would give with their job on the line, New York could be one of the many teams that will be ready to draft a rookie quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
The Giants are currently set to draft at No. 6 overall, which might be high enough to land one of the top-tier quarterbacks in this draft class or the team may have to go a different route to trade up to secure a better position to bring in player that has potentially caught their eye.
