Shocking news: Steelers CB suspended for first eight games of 2024 season following….

Cameron Sutton, an experienced cornerback who played six seasons in Pittsburgh, then joined the Lions in 2023, has returned to the Steelers under a one-year, $1.21 million deal this offseason. He has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2024 season after the NFL found his offseason conduct violated the league’s personal conduct policy. ESPN reports indicate Sutton does not plan to appeal the suspension.

Sutton was let go by the Detroit Lions in March following an arrest warrant accusing him of domestic battery involving strangulation. He surrendered and was detained at a jail in Tampa, Florida, following an extensive search that lasted several weeks.

Last year, Sutton inked a three-year, $33 million deal with Detroit, slated to earn $12.7 million in 2024. During the 2023 season, he played in all 17 regular-season games, recording 65 total tackles, six pass breakups, one interception, and one forced fumble.In his initial tenure with the Steelers, Sutton started 39 games, accumulating 168 combined tackles, 38 pass breakups, eight interceptions, and five forced fumbles.
