Russell Martin, the manager, is reportedly interested in signing O’Riley because he was previously signed by MK Dons.
Personal terms, however, would be a significant roadblock in any prospective transfer, according to the Southern Daily Echo.
According to earlier rumors, Southampton is prepared to surpass the Scottish transfer record—roughly £25 million Jota—in order to acquire O’Riley.However, according to the Daily Echo, any transfer agreement is still a ways off since Southampton must persuade O’Riley to go from Parkhead to St Mary’s.

Although it is believed that a transfer fee deal might be achieved, there are serious doubts as to whether O’Riley and the club would discuss a contract.
