If you thought the Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors to the Pittsburgh Steelers were intense before, you haven’t seen anything yet. The buzz had seemed to settle as teams immersed themselves in training camp. But now, there’s renewed reason to believe that Aiyuk could indeed be on the move.
Adam Schefter discussed a potential Aiyuk trade on The Pat McAfee Show on August 5. Later, Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan stated that the Steelers were nearing the final stages of a deal for the star receiver.
This news caused Steelers fans to go wild on social media.
Aiyuk then posted a video on Instagram of himself on a plane leaving San Francisco.
On the same day, a fan in Pittsburgh snapped a picture of a man he believed to be Brandon Aiyuk walking around North Shore, heading toward Acrisure stadium. There is no confirmation that the person in the photo is Aiyuk or that he’s in Pittsburgh.
Of course, Aiyuk could be toying with Steelers fans by using the black and yellow heart emojis. But there are so many questions that need to be asked and answered.
Why was Aiyuk sitting out of training camp? Why was he leaving California on an airplane? Is he in the process of being traded?
During the Aiyuk trade saga, the Pittsburgh Steelers have remained a leading contender. Omar Khan’s admission of inquiring about the 49ers’ star receivers during the 2024 NFL Draft shows his readiness for a major move.
Although the 49ers have little motivation to trade their star receiver, rumors suggest Aiyuk might sit out games if not moved. Additionally, the Steelers were already dealing with wide receiver issues before Roman Wilson’s ankle injury.
Multiple reputable sources have hinted that the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the final stages of a Brandon Aiyuk trade, and this seems more credible than ever. Get your popcorn ready!
