That would put the Warriors back in the thick of things” – Kendrick Perkins proposes a trade idea that could elevate the Dubs back into contention

The Golden State Warriors have been on the lookout for a player who can offer crucial support to their star, Stephen Curry. Following a lackluster season where they missed the NBA Playoffs and a disappointing offseason marked by Klay Thompson’s departure to Dallas, ESPN commentator Kendrick Perkins has proposed a trade idea that could address the Warriors’ needs.

The Warriors urgently require additional offensive firepower beyond Curry. Despite Curry’s impressive performance, averaging 26.4 points and 5.1 assists, he couldn’t shoulder the offensive responsibilities alone. This was starkly highlighted in the play-in game against Sacramento, where Curry scored 22 points while his “Splash Brother” was scoreless, missing all ten of his shots.

Perkins suggests that the Warriors should take advantage of the conflict between Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans. With contract extension talks stalled, the Warriors could make a move to acquire the former All-Star.

“I’d like to see Brandon Ingram join the Golden State Warriors, especially since the Pelicans are open to offers. I believe that Ingram, paired with Draymond Green and Steph Curry, would greatly benefit both him and the Warriors,” Perkins said on “NBA Today.”

The 6-foot-8 forward would provide the Warriors with the offensive boost they need to compete at the highest level. Ingram has been a consistent scorer since joining New Orleans, averaging 23.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game over five seasons.

“He’s a top scorer at a crucial position,” Perkins added.
