The National Peanut Festival has unveiled its theme for this year’s celebration, marking its 80th anniversary.

**DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -** The National Peanut Festival Association has revealed the theme for its 80th celebration: “A Family Tradition for 80 Years!” This milestone event will honor the festival’s rich history and enduring legacy, emphasizing the vital role of family and community in establishing it as a cherished annual tradition.

 

Since its beginning in 1938, the National Peanut Festival has become a premier event, attracting visitors nationwide to Dothan, the Peanut Capital of the World. This year’s festival promises to be the most spectacular yet, combining beloved traditions with exciting new attractions.

Festival Highlights:

  • Parade: The grand parade, featuring creative floats, marching bands, and local organizations, will take place on October 26, 2024. This year, we are excited to introduce a new parade time and route, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
  • Cubmobile Derby: Join us on October 5, 2024, for the Cubmobile Derby, a thrilling race event for young participants.
  • Little Miss Pageant: The adorable Little Miss Pageant will be held on October 12, 2024, showcasing the charm and grace of young contestants.
  • Miss Pageant: Witness the crowning of our new Miss National Peanut Festival on October 18-19, 2024, in a dazzling display of grace and poise.
  • Entertainment: Live music performances from renowned artists, thrilling amusement rides, and entertaining shows for all ages.
  • Agricultural Exhibits: Educational exhibits that highlight the significance of peanuts in our agricultural history, alongside modern innovations in farming.

The 80th National Peanut Festival will take place from November 1-10, 2024, at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan, Alabama. Tickets will be available September 1, 2024 for purchase online and at select locations throughout the region.
