Dallas Wings Game Status
OUT – Jaelyn Brown (Illness)
OUT – Natasha Howard (Foot)
OUT – Satou Sabally (Shoulder)
A huge absence to Dallas’ starting lineup, Howard started and played 36.0 minutes in the Wings’ first game of the season against the Chicago Sky on May 15, but has been out ever since. In her 10-year career in the WNBA, the three-time champion has averaged 11 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 310 total games (195 starts). She has split her career between the Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, New York Liberty and is now in her second season with the Wings. During her stint in Seattle, she was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.
Sabally has yet to make her 2024 season debut due to a shoulder injury. The 2023 WNBA Most Improved Player has played in Dallas for four seasons (2020-23) since being selected as the second-overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She has played 82 games (72 starts), collecting 15.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in the league.
Brown will sit out her eighth consecutive game as she continues to combat a persistent illness. Similarly to Howard, Brown’s sole appearance this season was in Dallas’ season opener against the Chicago Sky, where she tallied two assists and two rebounds.
For the Mercury, this marks the first game this season where no players are listed on the game status report. Rebecca Allen and Brittney Griner both participated in the previous game against the Minnesota Lynx despite being listed as questionable beforehand.
