According to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, Wrexham AFC might encounter significant obstacles to success upon their potential promotion to League One. The team, currently positioned second in League Two with 79 points, could secure promotion as early as Saturday if they defeat Forest Green Rovers at home, provided MK Dons and Barrow do not win their matches against Mansfield Town and Gillingham.
The potential for consecutive promotions has fans buzzing, and the recent financial reports of the club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, underscore its ability to attract quality players. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, Wrexham’s wage bill totaled £6.9m, a figure likely to rise in League Two.
